One #soldier, five #militants killed in #gun #battle across #LoC in #Jammu and #KashmirSrinagar: An official on Saturday said that at least five guerrillas were killed when they tried to sneak into the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that a soldier too was killed in the gun battle.

The gun battle had been took place in the Uri sector of the Baramulla district when Indian troops “noticed suspicious movement on our side of the LoC yesterday (Friday)”.

A senior army official said, “After being challenged, a group of heavily armed terrorists fired at the troops, triggering a gunfight in which one terrorist was killed yesterday (Friday) and a soldier sustained minor injuries.”

He also said, “Late last evening, four more terrorists were killed, while we also lost one of our soldiers.” Official also added that the militants were engaged in an infiltration bid.

The official said that because of the difficult terrain, the recovery of bodies of the guerrillas take time.
