Days after slaughter video, Separatist Asiya Andrabi arrested in SrinagarSrinagar: In an early morning raid, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested chief of radical women’s outfit Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Asiya Andrabi for indulging in anti-national activities. Andrabi, who is a known hardline sepratist, was nabbed in an early morning raid at her residence in Rambagh area of Srinagar.

Ms. Andrabi, who slaughtered a cow after a court ordered banning the same, faces a number of FIRs in the Valley. She released a 1:15-minute video on September 10 wherein she slaughtered a cow to defy the beef ban.

She hogged headlines for unfurling Pakistan flags and singing Pakistan anthem on two occasions since April this year, including one on August 14 to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day.

Wife of incarcerated separatist leader Qasim Faktoo, who faces a life term, Ms. Andrabi on Thursday asked separatists to think “above shutdown politics”.
