The Congress said all its 34 MLAs and four independent MLAs, who attended the meeting, rejected demands for Singh’s resignation and decided to submit a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee against the “political vendetta” unleashed by the Central BJP leadership against the Congress-led government. The party alleged misuse of CBI to destabilize “the strong and popular” democratically-elected Congress government.
