Mumbai local train derails, services affected, 5 passengers injuredMumbai:  Seven coaches of a local train from Andheri to Churchgate in Mumbai derailed on today morning between Vile Parle and Andheri station. Traffic on Mumbai’s western suburban rail line was disrupted after the train derailed.

No casualty has been reported, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Western Railway, Sharat Chandrayan said. The train coming from Borivili to Churchgate derailed at around 11am between Andheri and Vile Parle stations, the second such incident involving local trains in as many days.

Suburban harbour line services, both up and down, were on Monday suspended between CST and Wadala Road Station owing to the mishap. Earlier Western Railways had tweeted, “Some coaches of the VR-CCG Fast local derailed between Andheri and Vile Parle at 11 hrs. No injury reported yet. Details will be updated.”

Some coaches of Virar – Churchgate fast local derailed between Andheri – Vile Parle at about 11.03 hrs. No injury reported yet but details are being collected and will be posted on social media: Western Railways statement.

Few coaches of a Churchgate-bound fast local train derailed between Andheri and Vile Parle at around 11.05hrs on today .Most of the coaches affected were of first class. The derailment has affected train services on up and down lines.
