Mumbai: A concert of Pakistani ghazal singer – Ghulam Ali – which was scheduled to take place in Mumbai this Friday, was cancelled following protests by Shiv Sena. Soon after his concert was forced to be called off, the veteran singer, received an invite by the Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government to perform in the national capital.
The Delhi CM took to Twitter Friday morning to announce that Ghulam Ali will indeed be performing in Delhi in December. Ghulam Ali Sahib. Hum apke bahut bade fan hain. Abhi apse baat karke bahut acha laga. Thanks for agreeing to do a program in Delhi in Dec, kejriwal twiteed
Reacting to the cancellation of the concert, Ali said, “Atmosphere is not conducive for me to perform.”He further said that whenever his fans call him with love, he goes and performs. Such controversies spoil people’s ‘sur’ (note). I am not angry, I am very hurt. In love, such things don’t happen,” he added.
