#Australia's comfortable five-wicket win in the first ODI against India #INDvsAUS #WACA :  Counter-attacking hundreds and dearth of wickets was the order of the day at the unusually batting-friendly WACA track on Tuesday that saw three centuries, a total on 619 runs but only eight wickets in Australia’s comfortable five-wicket win in the first ODI against India.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli (91) began the run-filled day that saw the former carrying his bat through to score 171* and take India to 309 for 3. The duo added 207 runs against a depleted Australian attack, but the visitors’ commendable batting effort was skilfully undone by George Bailey (112) and Steven Smith (149) in a 242-run stand – that after losing the openers for just 21 on the board in a stiff chase.

Australia reached the target with four balls to spare for a five-wicket win.

The Australian duo of current and former ODI skippers paced their innings nicely before taking on the Indian bowling, that saw appreciable effort from debutant Barinder Sran, who finished with best figures in the Indian bowling line-up, taking 3 for 56 in 9.2 overs.
