#London : WWE has already announced that Kalisto will wrestle Rusev for the United States Championship at WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view this Sunday. Rusev won the oppurtunity to fight the Champion by winning a 20-man Battle Royal on RAW a few weeks ago. Kalisto defeated Alberto Del Rio at Royal Rumble to win the gold and has retained the belt on multiple occasions by defeating the likes of Del Rio, Ryback, etc.
The main reason behind this may be to put Lana over as a female competitor. She was originally hired by WWE as a wrestler, although her injuries limited her character as a manager. Having recovered from those injuries, she is wrestling more frequently at live events.
Lana made her NXT in-ring debut at last Friday’s Live event in Lakeland, Florida. She teamed with Mandy Rose, in a losing effort to Carmella and Daria Berenato.
