According to media reports, the Akhilesh Yadav-led UP state cabinet is likely to give a go ahead to the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission for the salaries of UP government employees.

The decision is likely to be taken during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday; meeting will be chaired by UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, according to a TOI report.

After the cabinet’s approval, the government is expected to table another supplementary budget in the assembly session starting December 21.

The budget will be for sanctions to fund the revised scales of employees and pensioners.

The budgetary allocation for this is expected to be to the tune of Rs 24,000 crore.

If this gets implemented, over 16 lakh government employees and 6 lakh pensioners will be benefited directly.
