NEET UG 2026 cancelled, NTA to reconduct exams soon, What will be next date?

NewDelhi: NEET UG 2026 cancelled: The National Testing Agency has cancelled the NEET UG 2026 exam, which was conducted on May 3, 2026.  The exam conducting body (NTA) has clarified that candidates will not have to submit a fresh application form for the next scheduled exam date if their examination has been postponed, rescheduled, or a re-test is being conducted.

This year around 22 lakh students have appeared for the NEET UG 2026 exams.

What the update means

Students who have already completed registration do not need to:

fill out the form again,

upload documents again,

or pay the application fee again.

Their previously submitted application will remain valid for the revised or upcoming exam date.

How did the controversy emerge?

The controversy surfaced after reports claimed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) received intelligence inputs from Rajasthan and Uttarakhand about suspicious question papers being circulated ahead of the NEET examination. These papers allegedly contained several questions that closely matched the actual exam conducted later.

During the investigation, authorities reportedly discovered that a “guess paper” shared among some candidates had more than 100 questions similar to those in the real NEET paper. Comparable materials were allegedly circulated in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and a few other states.

Some reports even claimed that the leaked content could help candidates secure nearly 600 marks in the exam.

The allegations quickly intensified concerns nationwide, as NEET is among India’s largest and most competitive entrance examinations, attracting lakhs of medical aspirants every year.
