Tamil Nadu Government Announces Ministerial Portfolios for New Cabinet

Chennai | The Tamil Nadu Government has officially announced the ministerial portfolios for the newly formed cabinet led by C. Joseph Vijay. The allocation of departments outlines the administrative responsibilities of key ministers in the new government.

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will oversee several major departments, including Public Administration, General Administration, Home, Police, Municipal Administration, Women Welfare, Youth Welfare, and other key sectors. Political observers view the decision as a move to keep crucial governance and administrative portfolios directly under the Chief Minister’s supervision.

As per the official portfolio allocation:

  • N Anand has been assigned the Rural Development and Water Resources department.
  • Aadhav Arjuna will handle Public Works and Sports Development.
  • Dr. K.G. Arunraj has been given charge of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare.
  • K.A. Sengottaiyan will oversee the Finance department.
  • P. Venkataramanan has been allocated Food and Civil Supplies.
  • CTR Nirmalkumar will manage Energy Resources and Law.
  • Rajmohan has been assigned School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity.
  • Dr. T.K. Prabhu will head the Natural Resources department.
  • Selvi S. Keerthana has been entrusted with the Industries portfolio.

The cabinet formation and portfolio distribution are being seen as a crucial step for the new government as it begins shaping its administrative and development agenda for the state. Political analysts believe the allocation reflects a focus on governance, infrastructure, healthcare, education, industry, and youth welfare.

The newly announced cabinet is expected to begin work on key policy decisions and developmental initiatives in the coming days.
