Thalapathy Vijay Takes Oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Announces New Political Era for TVK

Chennai: C. Joseph Vijay officially took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, marking a historic moment in the state’s political landscape and the rise of TVK as a major political force.

The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the induction of nine ministers into the new cabinet, signaling the formal beginning of the TVK-led government in the state. The event drew massive public attention, with supporters celebrating what many described as the arrival of a new generation of leadership in Tamil Nadu politics.

Among those who took oath as ministers were N. Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, Dr. K.G. Arunraj, K.A. Sengottaiyan, Rajmohan, R. Nirmalkumar, P. Venkataramanan, T.K. Prabhu, and S. Keerthana. The cabinet reflects a mix of experienced faces and emerging leaders within the party structure.

TVK’s electoral performance has been widely seen as one of the most significant political developments in recent Tamil Nadu history. Under Vijay’s leadership, the party succeeded in mobilizing strong support among youth, women, and first-time voters across the state.

Vijay moved swiftly into action immediately after taking oath as Chief Minister. In one of the first major decisions of the new government, he approved three important welfare and governance measures:

  1. Free electricity up to 200 units per month for domestic consumers across Tamil Nadu.
  2. Formation of a Special Women’s Protection Force aimed at strengthening women’s safety and security across the state.
  3. Establishment of anti-drug squads in every district to intensify action against drug abuse and related criminal activities.

These early decisions are being viewed by supporters as a strong indication of the government’s focus on welfare, public safety, and administrative responsiveness from day one.

Political observers believe Vijay’s transition from cinema to governance has created a new political narrative centered around transparency, welfare-oriented governance, and people-centric leadership. His calm and confident appearance during the oath ceremony quickly became a major talking point on social media, with supporters calling it a symbolic beginning of a fresh political chapter for Tamil Nadu.

The new government is expected to focus on welfare measures, employment generation, infrastructure development, education, and public services. Early announcements by the administration have already generated strong public discussion and raised expectations among citizens.

With TVK now officially in power, all eyes will be on how Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay shapes governance and delivers on the promises that powered the party’s remarkable political rise.
