Four-Month Ground Survey Across All 182 Assembly Constituencies

The 18th Shining India Best MLA Awards – Gujarat 2026 also honoured 11 selected MLAs from Gujarat for their notable performance in public service, developmental initiatives and engagement with their constituents.

The selection followed an extensive four-month ground survey across all 182 Assembly constituencies of Gujarat, conducted by Shining India News & Shining India Survey.

The evaluation process was based on direct public opinion, grassroots research and predefined assessment parameters.

Key parameters included the accessibility and availability of public representatives, responsiveness to citizens’ concerns, resolution of local issues, direct engagement with constituents, developmental initiatives, education, healthcare, roads and infrastructure, agriculture and irrigation, rural development, social welfare and other areas of public interest.

The objective of the extensive assessment was to identify public representatives demonstrating notable grassroots performance and recognise positive contributions to public service and development.

Public Service, Development and Public Opinion at the Core of Selection

The selection process for the Shining India Best MLA Awards focused on public service, development, grassroots performance, accessibility, accountability and public opinion, rather than political affiliation or ideology.

Feedback received directly from citizens across different Assembly constituencies was assessed alongside field research and predefined evaluation parameters.

The initiative seeks to highlight constructive work in public life and recognise representatives whose efforts have made a positive impact at the grassroots level.

As part of the same distinguished ceremony, Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama Ji was specially honoured for his long-standing contribution to education and public service.

25 Years of Experience in Media, Survey, Research and Public Opinion

Shining India News & Shining India Survey have been active for the past 25 years in the fields of media, research, public opinion and surveys.

Over the years, the organisations have undertaken grassroots studies, public-opinion exercises, research and surveys on a range of social, political and public-interest issues, with an emphasis on understanding citizens’ perspectives and ground realities.

Drawing upon this experience in field research and public opinion, the Shining India Best MLA Awards have been developed as an independent, survey-based initiative to recognise notable performance in public service.

The initiative does not seek to recognise representatives on the basis of political party or ideology. Instead, the assessment focuses on public service, development, accessibility, accountability, grassroots performance and public feedback.

18th Edition of the Shining India Best MLA Awards

Continuing a series of 17 previously organised Shining India Best MLA Award ceremonies across different states of India, the Gandhinagar ceremony marked the 18th Shining India Best MLA Awards – Gujarat 2026.

Previous editions of the Shining India Best MLA Awards have also been organised in Gujarat in 2012 and 2017.

For the 2026 Gujarat edition, an extensive four-month survey and public-feedback exercise was undertaken across all 182 Assembly constituencies before the final selection of award recipients.

Along with recognising outstanding legislators, the ceremony also honoured distinguished personalities whose long-standing contributions to education, public service and nation-building have made a significant impact.

The recognition of Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama Ji with the Shining India Excellence in Public Service Award – 2026 reflected this broader commitment to acknowledging distinguished and sustained contributions to public life.
