“Political rhetoric has intensified regarding the ongoing protests against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi. Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) activist Abhijit Dipke has alleged that students and youths who have been protesting for the last 10 to 15 days are being detained. He claimed that when opposition leaders also joined the movement, they were detained as well. In a press conference on Thursday, Abhijit Dipke raised the question as to for whose sake the action against students, youth, and opposition leaders is being taken. He stated that all this is being done for one individual, namely Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. However, these allegations have been leveled by the CJP activist.”
Abhijit Dipke stated that student organizations and youth have been protesting on the streets in Delhi for the last 10 to 15 days. According to him, protesters are being removed from the site and detained. He claimed that when opposition leaders joined the protest, they were also detained. Among them, leaders like the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and former Chief Ministers Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, and Pinarayi Vijayan were mentioned. Dipke said that railway services were also shut down during the movement. He claimed that this happened after the call for protest on October 10, which was possibly a first in the country’s history. He also alleged that metro stations were closed in Delhi and security forces were summoned from Jammu and Kashmir. According to his statement, these steps taken to stop the protest must be questioned.”
