Mumbai: Model who accused Mumbai DIG Sunil Paraskar had done it to create controversy and publicity to get participated in a TV show. The former lawyer of the model said that his client had never mentioned ‘rape’ for him.
Sunil Paraskar had been booked by Mumbai police after a model accused him of raping her on 24 July.
Sunil Paraskar is the deputy inspector general (DIG-protection of civil rights units).
Rizwan Siddiqui, former lawyer of model had given its statement to police. He had also submitted a CCTV footage in which he is seen discussing the case with the model.
Lawyer Siddiqui claimed that her client told him that she wanted to create a controversy to participate a TV show.
He also said that the model also told him that she wanted him to fabricate a plot to harass the police officer.
Siddiqui said, “My client did not mention to me that she and Paraskar are close to each other. I did not find enough substance into the allegations which my client was making. My client told me that she was doing it for publicity and she wants to get into a TV show.”
He further said, “When I learnt that my client is misusing my name and reputation I decided to back off. I have submitted the CCTV evidence and my version to the police.”
Meanwhile model has now accused Siddiqui of being under the influence of DIG Paraskar.
Model said, “I approached an advocate Rizwan Siddiqui, whom I knew for some time. The advocate sent a legal notice to DIG Paraskar. Later I realised that Siddiqui was under the influence of Paraskar, as they knew each other through common friends. This was apparent from the messages and phone conversations that I had with this advocate. I have a record of these SMSs and phone conversation.”
Notify that model has alleged that Paraskar raped her when he was additional commissioner of police (north region), a few months ago, before he was transferred to the state police headquarters as DIG.
