Meerut: Tension had been spread in the air of Meerut after alleged gang-rape and religious conversion of a 20-year-old madarsa teacher.
BJP had demanded for fair investigations in this case.
Party spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak alleged that the incident was the result of official laxity and apathy.
He said, “People have to take to streets to get FIR registered in rape and other cases in the state. In Kharkahuda incident, the family members managed to get an FIR registered after nine hours.”
He said, “The manner in which there are reports of holding girls captive, forced conversion and selling them, it is a matter of grave concern. In the light of the facts which have come to fore in this incident, there is a need for some serious inquiry.”
