Micromax acquire no. 1 position in India

Micromax acquire no. 1 position in India	New Delhi: After beating Samsung, Micromax had become the number 1 brand of mobile in Indian market in second quarter of 2014.

A study which had been conducted by technology market research firm Counterpoint Research claimed that with a 16.6 percent share of the mobile market, Micromax is followed by Samsung with a 14.4 percent market share.

However, in the smartphone segment, Micromax is still placed second with Samsung holding nearly 25 percent of the market in this section.

The report claimed, “The smartphone segment grew at 68 percent annually in Q2 2014 in India, and Indian brands captured more than two-thirds of the total mobile phone shipments and more than half of the smartphone shipments.”
