Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister and Al India Trinamool Congress (AITC) chairperson Mamata Banerjee had slammed on media and claimed that a majority of media has been “brought-off”. Notify that several leaders of TMC had been facing the allegation of their involvement with scam-tainted Saradha group.
During the program of State’s Education Department to observe Teachers’ Day, WB CM said, “They are claiming that someone is involved in wrongdoing without even verifying.”
In her speech, Mamata claimed that she or her leaders are not indulging in any wrong doing. She accused a section of media and said that media is “transgressing all limits”. She also blamed that it has no concern about the nature of these allegations.
She said, “They are spreading canards about education, and creating a divide between teachers, students and people in general.”
“In the education sector, they portray there is unrest,” Ms Banerjee said, asking “Where is unrest?”. She admitted that a few untoward incidents may occur, but it is wrong to paint the entire sector with one brush.
WB CM said that the role of a large section of the media these days was only “destructive” and they had started a “regressive chapter” in the history of the State.
