Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Turbo 5 in India, introducing the new Turbo smartphone series for users looking for high-performance hardware, large battery backup, and advanced camera features. Announced on June 16, 2026, the smartphone will go on sale from June 19 via Xiaomi’s online and retail channels. The device arrives with a MediaTek Dimensity chipset, a large battery, high refresh-rate AMOLED display, and long-term software support.
The Redmi Turbo 5 enters the premium mid-range segment with a starting price of Rs 37,999, while the top variant costs Rs 40,999. Xiaomi is also offering an introductory bank discount of Rs 2,000.

Redmi Turbo 5: Performance and hardware
At the centre of the Redmi Turbo 5 is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi says the phone supports sustained 120fps gameplay in supported titles and includes a 3D cooling system to manage heat during gaming or heavy multitasking.
The device targets users who regularly switch between demanding apps, edit videos, stream high-resolution content, or play mobile games for long periods.
Redmi Turbo 5: Large battery with fast charging
Battery capacity remains one of the biggest highlights. The Redmi Turbo 5 packs a 7,540mAh battery, making it one of the biggest batteries seen in Redmi phones in India so far. The smartphone supports 100W fast charging, and Xiaomi claims it can reach 51 per cent charge in 30 minutes.
The phone also supports 27W reverse charging, allowing users to power accessories or another smartphone when needed.
Redmi Turbo 5: Camera, display, and durability
For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 gets a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS). It supports 4K video recording at 60fps and includes burst photography features for fast-moving subjects.
The smartphone also features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Xiaomi has added IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance.
The Redmi Turbo 5 will be available in two variants: 8GB + 256GB at Rs 37,999 and 12GB + 256GB at Rs 40,999, with sales beginning on June 19 in India.
