NewDelhi/Kathmandu, September 19, 2026 India has dispatched another consignment of humanitarian assistance to Nepal as relief and recovery efforts continue following the devastating floods and landslides in the neighbouring country.
Under India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy, the Indian Air Force (IAF) transported around 11 tonnes of additional relief material to Kathmandu on Saturday. This marked the ninth IAF relief flight carrying humanitarian assistance to Nepal.
Medicines, Tents and Essential Supplies Sent
The latest consignment includes medicines, forensic supplies, tents, hygiene kits, sleeping bags and other essential relief materials required for ongoing relief and recovery operations.
India has been extending assistance to Nepal since the devastating floods struck the country last month. So far, India has provided more than 130 tonnes of relief material and deployed specialist personnel to support relief, rescue and forensic operations.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar shared photographs of the latest relief consignment on social media platform X, highlighting India’s continued assistance to Nepal.
He said that another 11 tonnes of supplies—including medicines, forensic supplies, tents, hygiene kits and sleeping bags—had been dispatched and reaffirmed that India continues to support Nepal in its recovery efforts.
The External Affairs Minister also highlighted India’s #NeighbourhoodFirst approach in his message.
Relief and Recovery Efforts Continue
Nepal was hit by devastating flash floods on August 26, causing significant loss of life and widespread damage to infrastructure. Search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations have continued in the affected areas since the disaster.
India has supported Nepal through the delivery of humanitarian supplies by air and road, along with specialist teams and technical assistance.
India and Nepal share deep-rooted historical, cultural and people-to-people ties. The continuing humanitarian assistance reflects India’s commitment to supporting its neighbour during the ongoing relief and recovery operations.
