Threats in Bollywood

Ayushmann is the latest Bollywood star to have allegedly received threats and been asked for money. The incident has once again highlighted security concerns in the film industry, particularly as law enforcement agencies investigate threats allegedly made in the name of organised criminal gangs.

Before this, a person who called himself ‘Harry Boxer’ had also reportedly sent a threatening audio message to actor Tusshar Kapoor. But initial investigations indicated the message could have been a hoax.

Police have also deepened their investigation into threats to members of the film industry after Tiger Shroff’s recent firing incident. He was attacked n October 18 in Juhu, Mumbai. Tiger’s episode led to the police stepping up security-related arrangements and probing possible threats against Bollywood personalities. Authorities are now working to determine whether the messages received by the different actors are linked and to identify the people or gangs behind them.

On the work front, Ayushmann was last seen in Udta Teer, co-starring Sara Ali Khan. The film has been produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. It marks another collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.
