Superintendent of home charged for sexual harassment case

Superintendent of home charged for sexual harassment case New Delhi: Superintendent of Government Observation Home had been booked by police on Thursday in charge of sexually harassing of two minor girls in the home.

The case was registered by the Fort All Women Police against superintendent Prabhakaran (46) under different sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act on a complaint lodged by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairman.

The CWC chairman, Indira Gandhi, on Wednesday passed an order directing the police to file a FIR against Prabhakaran after conducting inquiries into sexual harassment.

The offence came to light after one of the minors in the home and reunited with her parents a few days ago lodged a complaint of sexual harassment meted out to two minor girls by the superintendent when he was drunk.

Indira Gandhi claimed that Prabhakaran had sexually harassed the girls on the night of October 9 and 10 at the home which has five girls.

Notify that weather the superintendent was the custodian of the home but he was not required to stay in the home at night.

CWC members which were headed by Ms. Indira Gandhi and the Probationary Officer had inspected the home on Wednesday after receiving the complaint and conducted a special sitting to inquire into the incident.
