Bangalore: Passengers travelling from Bangalore will now get the free Wi-Fi service at Bangalore City railway station. Bangalore City railway station had also become the first station of India to have Wi-Fi facility for providing high speed internet to passengers.
The facility of Wi-Fi will be available to passengers on their mobile phones for free for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the user may purchase scratch cards, which will be made available at the Wi-Fi Help Desk.
A senior railway official said that it will charge Rs. 25 for 30 minutes and Rs. 35 for one hour and are valid through 24 hours. Additional browsing time can also be purchased on-line using credit/debit cards.
The official said, “The Wi-Fi facility at Bangalore is operational after the inaugural of the service by Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda recently… with the implementation of the service, Bangalore railway station becomes the first station in the country to have WiFi facility for passengers.”
