Mumbai: Any normal mortal would have kept himself/herself locked in a room after being named in an alleged prostitution racket. But national award winning actress Shweta Basu Prasad did not let her morale down after her name figured in a sensational sex racket.
The Bollywood actress was sent to a remand home in Hyderabad after her arrest and spent almost two months there. During her remand home stint, the 23-year-old Makdee actress decided to teach children when she was facing one of the biggest crises in her life, instead of sulking alone.
“I decided to teach the children of the remand home – there’s a school within its compound – Hindi, English and music. I said myself ‘Shweta is dead; she has disappeared into this character of a school teacher that she is portraying. Just portray the character and make it a good performance’,” the actress told Mumbai Mirror.
The actress has been released from the remand home and is back in her Mumbai home with her parents. Shweta told she would pursue her acting career and would not let one ‘bad incident’ affect her life. A similar sex racket rocked Sandalwood recently, where several big names figured in a television sting operation demanding sex from aspiring actress in exchange of film roles.
