Akhilesh Yadav expelled MLA of Vidhuna for 6 years

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had expelled MLA Promod Kumar Gupta for six year from party for his indulgence in anti-party and indiscipline on Friday.

Promod kumar is a relative of wife of president of SP Mulayam Singh Yadav with his wife Sadhna Gupta. He represents Vidhuna seat from Auraiyya district. He came in news few months before also when his son had slapped a teacher in Amity University. At that time Akhilesh Yadav himself intervened in this matter and assures the teacher for justice. Gupta had reportedly submitted his resignation as MLA on Thursday to Mulayam Singh Yadav and informed to CM. Gupta had cited deteriorating law and order situation in Auraiyya as the reason behind his resignation.

State secretary of SP S R S Yadav said in his statement that Pramod Kumar Gupta MLA has been expelled from the party. The decision has been taken by CM Akhilesh Yadav, who is also the state president of the party.

S R S Yadav stated that only Gupta had been expelled and no action has been taken on any other legislators who had recently criticised the state government on various occasions. “The expulsion order is only for Gupta and his indulgence in anti-party activities and indisciplined behaviour has been cited as the reason for his expulsion.”

S R S Yadav also said regarding the resignation of Gupta, “For resignation from MLA’s post there is another procedure. We are not concerned with that. Today he has been expelled from the party.”

Principal Secretary of the Vidhan Sabha Pradeep Dubey said Gupta’s resignation from the Assembly had not yet been received.
