Fourth price rise of petrol in six week, now it hiked by Rs1.55 per litre

New Delhi: It is the fourth time since June when price of petrol has been raised. The price of petrol has been raise by Rs. 1.55 per litre. This figure is exclusive of the taxes and therefore we expect the actual prices to go up by up to Rs 2.00 per litre across the country. As the demotion of rupee made oil import costlier, it is the fourth increase in rates in last six weeks. This price rise took place on Sunday, 14 of July.Petrol

If we take a look to the price rise of petrol from June then, petrol was raised by 75 paise on June 1, followed by a Rs. 2 per litre increase on June 16 and a Rs. 1.82 per litre hike on June 29. Prices of diesel remain unchanged so far, but we won’t be surprised if diesel prices are revised as well in the near future.

Now Petrol price in Delhi has been hiked by Rs. 1.86 per litre to Rs. 70.44, effective Monday, as against the present Rs. 68.58. The revision in prices, as per the practice of changing rates in line with cost every fortnight, was due on Tuesday July 16 but will be raised a day earlier. With the latest increase, all of the gains made from four reductions in prices earlier this year had been neutralised. The rates cuts had brought down the price to Rs. 63.01 at the beginning of May.
