Delhi will fight the assembly elections under the collective leadership- Gadkari

Nitin Gadkari jiNew Delhi: Nitin Gadkari, former National President of BJP and Delhi BJP election in-charge Nitin Gadkari on Friday said that BJP in Delhi will fight the assembly elections under the collective leadership instead of just one leader. Gadkari’s statement came as an assurance to many senior leaders and workers who have been unhappy with the working style and functioning Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel.

It is known as several disgruntled leaders had met Gadkari on Friday to lodge complaint about Goel. Sources said that senior leaders felt they were being sidelined by the state president and that they felt embarrassed.

Gadkari met with national secretary Arti Mehra, Pravesh Verma (son of former chief minister, late Sahib Singh Verma), former MLA Vijay Jolly and state unit general secretary (organization) Vijay Sharma. Party’s election co-in-charge for Delhi Navjot Singh Sidhu and Goel were also present at the meeting.

A BJP leader said, “One leader complained that Goel never consulted or sought any opinion.”

Sources said that Gadkari asked them to work together to ensure the defeat of Congress-led state government. He also said indiscipline in the party fold will not be tolerated and no one will be given a free run to derail BJP’s electoral preparedness for personal interest. Gadkari also asked leaders to find way to decentralize the decision-making process.
