BJP book 11 trains for the ‘Hoonkar rally

500x500The BJP is pulling out all stops to make its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s maiden political rally in his rival Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s home turf here on October 27 mega a success. State BJP stalwart and former deputy CM, Sushil Kumar Modi said the party had reserved 11 trains for the ‘Hoonkar rally’ and would install a large dynamic screen as a backdrop on stage to create a larger than life image of the Gujarat CM. The 30-feet LED screen would display slides showing famous historical places of the state like Nalanda University, Bodh Gaya temple, Gol Ghar among others and portraits of great personalities.

The personalities whose portraits would be relayed include hero of 1857 revolt Veer Kunwar Singh, first President of Independent India Rajendra Prasad and Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan, all hailing from the state, Sushil Modi said. He said for a comprehensive coverage of the rally, the party had decided to press into service around 12 of its own cameramen for capturing bit-by-bit picture of the crowd and other memorable events. Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav said that for the first time, linear sound system would be used in the state so that everybody could hear the speech clearly.

Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey said 11 trains have been reserved for people to come to the state capital for the “Hoonkar rally”. Besides, over 3,000 buses have been booked for transportation of people from various parts of the state, he added. BJP’s 91 MLAs, 12 MPs and office bearers were travelling across the state to drum up huge support for the rally. Former minister Ashwani Choubey was touring the districts on “Hoonkar rath” to mobilise people for the event, he said. Pandey said Sushil Modi, Yadav and other senior party leaders were taking stock of arrangements for the rally daily.
