Lokpal bill: All parties nodded but SP reject and walkout of Rajya Sabha

Anna_Hazare_tar5565New Delhi: Most of the parties had nodded to pass the legislation of Lokpal Bill in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday but Samajwadi Party had showed his rejection on it and walkout from Rajya Sabha.

Government is hopeful that Rajya Sabha will pass the bill today, said Parliamentary affair minister Kamal Nath to media.

Kamal Nath also said that government has got in touch with the Samajwadi Party and expects it will cooperate in passing the anti-graft legislation.

However, the rejection of SP over Lokpal Bill somehow raises a point of dissatisfaction and disbelief on it.

Law Minister Kapil Sibal said it a “historic” day over the discussion on the bill and it was time to celebrate the consensus that had been reached on the issue.

Sibal said, “I don’t think it is time to laugh or snigger. It is time for us to rise to the occasion.”

The main opposition parties including BJP, BSP and Left expressed their support which claims that the bill is all set for passage.
