Yemen President denied to stop U.S. Drone Strikes

DroneSana’a: The Parliament of Yemen had pressurized the President to stop the drone attack of America after drone attack killed 15 peoples in a wedding ceremony mistakenly.

Meanwhile the President of Yemen, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi that he is not going to take any action against drone attack as his government needs the funds from America for it. The United States administration also said that cooperation of counterterrorism would be continued.

The voting has been took place in Parliament regards the end of drone strikes. Natives of Yemens also show their anger toward these drone attacks and the relationship of Yemen government with US.

Notify that America had dedicated millions of dollars to support the central government of Hadi and in return of it he allows the US to hunt al Qaeda operatives in Yemen.

US Officials claimed that U.S. provided nearly $350 million to Yemen’s government, split between military and civilian aid last year. That was up from $28 million in 2008, before the U.S. drone program resumed after a six-year hiatus.

Ali al-Mamari, a parliamentarian said, “You don’t fight terror by killing civilians and that is why, with the growing drone campaign, terror groups today are as strong as they were five years ago.”

The spokesperson of White House, Jay Carney, said, “We obviously cooperate closely with the government of Yemen on counterterrorism, have in the past and will continue in the future to do that.”

The State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency had no comment.

Officials said that a U.S. drone strike killed at least 15 civilians on their way to a wedding ceremony in central Yemen on Thursday.

Officials also claimed that none of them were on the list of wanted of al Qaeda operative.

Presidential adviser of Yemen said, “There is no denying that there have been huge mistakes in the drone strategy.” “The vote in parliament will ensure that even if drones continue, civilian casualties won’t happen again.”
