18 dead bodies recovered from Nepal plane crash siteKathmandu: Security personnel looking for the missing Nepal Airlines plane recovered 18 bodies and the plane’s wreckage at Arghakhanchi district today. With this, it is now confirmed that all the 18 board, including a child and a Danish citizen, died in the crash.

The 9N-ABB plane, with 18 people aboard, got missed Sunday afternoon, and its wreckage was found Monday morning a few kilometers from Khidim, a small town in Arghakhachi district, southern Nepal.

The Twin Otter plane was flying to Jumla in west Nepal from Kathmandu via Pokhara.

Spokesperson of Nepal Airlines Corporation, Ram Hari Sharma said that an Army helicopter which had been pressed into search and rescue operation spotted the wreckage at Dhikura village in Arghakhanchi.

This is the second crash of a Nepal Airlines plane in less than a year. Last year in May, another Twin Otter plane had crashed in Mustang. However, all those on board had escaped unhurt.

In recent years, Nepal has witnessed planes crashes. Late last year, the European Commission banned planes from Nepal flying to countries in the European Union. It also issued a travel advisory asking EC citizens and travel agents to avoid Nepal’s planes.
