Ranchi: A woman beat his neighbour to death after she came to know that her five-year-old daughter was allegedly raped by him. Arjun Tamba (30) succumbed to his injuries after he was attacked by an iron rod at Latma area in Jagannathpur locality late on Saturday evening.
According to police, the woman went out to work at a construction site on Saturday and her daughter was alone at home. Tamba called her to his house and allegedly raped her. When her mother returned from work, the girl narrated the episode to her mother. She lost her temper and picked up an iron rod and thrashed Tamba to death at his place.
No one raised a voice even as the man cried for help. Locals came to know about the murder on Sunday morning and informed police after which the body was recovered, said Murmu, adding that Tamba lived alone.
The police said though the woman claims that her daughter was raped, medical report are yet to confirm the allegations, talk to reporters on Sunday.
The woman said, at the police station the mother of the five-year-old girl said: “My daughter told me that Tamba had called her in his house for playing. He outraged her modesty and when the girl started crying, he fled from his house. The girl was weeping uncontrollably when I came home.
