Government may present General Budget between July 9 to 15, says Sources

Government may present General Budget between July 9 to 15, says SourcesNew Delhi:  The Union Budget is likely to take place between July 9 and July 15. That’s the word coming in from sources in the Finance Ministry.

The final date of submission of the Budget is likely to be July 15 because the government has taken the Parliament’s nod at the time of the interim Budget for expenditure up to July-end.

The exercise of reassessing the revenue and expenditure numbers is very much on. It has started quite some time back and now it has gathered pace, especially with the induction of the new Finance Minister just around the corner.

Also, the tax cuts in the auto, capital goods and the consumer durables sector is going to expire on June 30. In all likelihood, the new Finance Bill will take a look at this aspect again whether this sectoral relief needs to be continued or whether this needs to be discontinued.
