 Tamil Filmmaker Ramanarayanan dies in SingaporeMumbai: Popular film director and producer Ramanarayanan, who directed a record-breaking 125 movies in nine Indian languages in a career spanning 36 years, died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Singapore on Sunday.

Ramanarayanan, who started his career as dialogue writer, had directed 126 films across multiple languages in over three decades.

The prolific filmmaker made a name for himself making small-budget films, predominantly on devotional themes or stories in which animals played central roles. Ramnarayanan was also at the helm of the Producers Council for several years.

Ramanarayanan’s last film was last year’s “Arya Surya”. In the last few years, he had been distributing several Tamil films under his home banner Sri Thendral Films.
He had also served as the president of Tamil Nadu Film Producer Council for three consecutive terms.
