Navy personnel of Sri Lanka had arrested 38 fishermen of Kottaipattinam and Rameswaram of Tamil Nadu under the charge of crossing International Maritime Boundary Line early on Tuesday.
President of the Fishermen Association A Jesuraja and “Q” Branch Inspector Kennedy said that the navy personnel had also seized nine of their boats.
They said that 18 fishermen from Kottaipattinam and their five boats were taken to Jaffna while 20 fishermen and four boats from here were taken to Talaimannar.
