Chennai: Sri Lankan Navy had arrested 50 fishermen of India who belongs from Nagapattinam and Karaikal town of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. Seven boats are also being seized by Navy personnel.
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa had already taken up the issue and will soon be discussing it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is her firm commitment to restore traditional fishing rights of Tamil Nadu fishermen in the Palk Bay and retrieval of Katchatheevu.
Notify that 38 fishermen were being arrested by Sri Lankan Navy last week.
