Hyderabad: Indian Badminton player Saina Nehwal is still waiting of her reward of 50 lakf, which government had promised to her in 2012 after winning the Olympics bronze medal.
Notify that the united Andhra Pradesh government had announced Rs 50 lakh each to Saina and Gagan Narang as they both from Hyderabad after they won bronze medals in badminton and shooting at the London Olympics in 2012.
Till now they both didn’t get the money of reward since two years. Some reports claimed that the file regarding the payment had reached the secretariat. But elections and the bifurcation saga delayed the issue.
After the Telangana government had appointed Tennis star Sania Mirza as ‘Brand Ambassador’ and ignored Saina Nehwal, shuttler saina had tweeted “#I am very hurt and sad that I have still not received the cash award from my state for the Olympic bronze medal that I won for my country#.”
Meanwhile Saina had also showed her happiness for Sania Mirza and said, “I am happy to know that Sania Mirza has become the brand ambassador of Telangana and I am proud of Telangana”
