Chennai: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan had shot dead three colleagues who were guarding at Kalpakkam atomic plant and two other were injured near Chennai of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened inside the barracks where the security personnel were taking rest early in the morning. The reason for the attack was not known, police said.
The accused, head constable Vijay Pratap Singh, was nabbed and handed over to police.
The deceased were identified as CISF head constables Mohan Singh, hailing from Rajasthan, Subburaj, a native of Chinnareddy Patti near Virudhunagar, and assistant sub-inspector Ganesan, hailing from Salem.
The bodies the deceased were taken to the Government Hospital in Chengalpet for postmortem.
Injured CISF assistant sub-inspector P Singh and head constable Govardhan Singh were admitted to Chettinad Hospital on the outskirts of Chennai.
