Maran brothers summoned as accused in Aircel-Maxis deal

Maran brothers summoned as accused in Aircel-Maxis dealNew Delhi: Former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran along with his brother and two others had been summoned by a Special court on Wednesday in Aircel-Maxis deal case.

Special court had also summoned four companies including SUN Direct TV as accused.

A Special 2G court summoned the former telecom minister along with his brother Kalanithi Maran, Malaysian business tycoon T Ananda Krishnan as accused in the case on March 2, 2015.

A top official of Malaysia-based Maxis group Augustus Ralph Marshall was also summoned as accused by court.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed a chargesheet in the Aircel-Maxis deal against the former minister in August.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi said the available material with CBI was enough to prosecute Dayanidhi and his brother Kalanithi Maran in the Aircel Maxis case.
