Shocking: Baby delivered in compound of government health centre in MuzaffarnagarMuzaffarnagar: Women give birth to a child in the compound of a government health centre in Shamli district of Muzaffarnagar when the staff of health centre had refused to admit her without bribe.

The incident occurred yesterday when the woman, Zubeda, was taken to a government primary health centre in Kandhla town after she complained of labour pain.

Her family alleged that she delivered the baby in the compound of the health centre after the doctors on duty refused to admit her, demanding a bribe as the price of admission.

She had been admitted to the health centre with her child later when the family members had protested there. The family is now demanding strict action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, Ramesh Chander, the superintendent of the health centre had denied the allegations that the women had been refused admission.

He also assured and ordered inquiry of the incident. Victim had been referred to a district hospital.
