US court summoned mega star Amitabh Bachchan for ‘instigating’ violence in 1984 sikhs riotsJalandhar: The Federal court of Los Angeles had summoned the mega star of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan for allegedly ‘instigating’ violence against Sikh community during November 1984 riots.

Bachchan has been accused of raising ‘Khooon Ka Badla Khoon’ (blood for blood) slogan on October 31, 1984 after then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was shot dead by her two Sikh bodyguards.

Bachchan has 21 days after the service of summons to respond to the charges of human rights violations as per the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

October 27 summon issued by the US federal court reads, “If you failed to respond, judgment by default will be entered against you for relief demanded in the complaint.”

The US district court here issued the summons on a complaint filed by New York-based Sikh for Justice (SFJ) and two alleged victims of the anti-Sikh riots.

The complaint alleges that Bachchan instigated people for violence after the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
