14 crew rescue by #Navy, #Coast #Guard from #sinking #vesselMumbai: A joint team of Navy and Coast Guard had rescued off fourteen crew members of a sinking ship at Daman Coast on Wednesday.

The vessel sank 24 nautical miles south of Daman (75 nautical miles north off Mumbai). According to Indian Navy PRO DK Sharma, an SOS was received from vessel MV Coastal Pride – a cement carrier – early this morning.

Sharma also said that one Sea King chopper of the Navy and two Chetak helicopters of the Coast Guard were deployed for the rescue operation.

Navy launched the Sea King chopper at 07:58 hours from INS Shikra, Colaba, while Coast Guard launched two Chetak helicopters at around 08:40 hours for the rescue operation.
