PM Narendra Modi congratulates Amit Shah on  re-elected as #BJP Party's  President, New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) elected Amit Shah as party president for the next three years on Sunday. His name has been proposed by some 20 leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party including Prime Minister Narendra Modi , JP Nadda, Manohar Parrikar, Vasundhara Raje, Anandiben Patel, Sarbananda Sonowal  and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The election process was mere a formality as it was very clear from the beginning that 51-year-old Amit Shah will be elected unapposed. Party’s top leaders including, PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajanth Singh were present during the process at party office in New Delhi.

Soon after the announcement of Amit  Shah’s election for the party’s top post, there were celebrations in the party head office as well as other cities.

Party’s old guards Shri  LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi and Yashwant Sinha were conspicuous with their absence at the part headquarters.

#AmitShah current term ended on Saturday and the new term will be his first full-term lasting three years.

Seen as a close confidante of PM  Narendra Modi , #AmitShah was put at the helm midway during his predecessor Rajnath Singh ‘s tenure after Singh joined the government in May 2014.
