Mumbai: The series on the yoga guru’s journey from being a common man to a global figure will roll by year-end
It’s official. Actor-director-producer Ajay Devgn has reportedly joined hands with filmmaker Abhinav Shukla to produce a TV series on yoga guru Ramdev.
“The television series, titled Swami Baba Ramdev: The Untold Story revolves around Ramdev and his partner Balakrishna, tracing his journey from an anonymous common man to a global figure,“ informs a source.
The writers of the show are presently busy with their research and the shooting will start by the year-end, the source added.
Ramdev was born on December 25, 1965, in the Hazaribag Ali Saiyad Pur village of Haryana. He studied yoga and Sanskrit in several gurukuls before turning into a sanyasi. The casting for Ramdev’s biopic is underway . It is being said that Dil Dhadakne Do actor Vikrant Massey was roped in to play the titular character, but he has since opted out.
Vikrant confirmed it, saying, “Yes, I had started preparing but have since opted out for personal reasons. I wish the team luck.”
