BSF jawan Ramzan Parray's funeral today; police suspects LeT's hand in killing.Bandipora: The Jammu and Kashmir Police suspects the hand of terrorists affiliated to Lashkar-e-Toiba behind the sensational killing of Ramzan Parray, a Border Security Force jawan, on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters, Inspector General, North Kashmir, Nitish Kumar said, ”There were 3-4 terrorists who first attacked him with knife and then opened fire on him indiscriminately.”

Prima facie we know that Lashkar-e-Toiba’s Mohammed Bhai and his aides were behind the attack, the IG, North Kashmir, said.

The slain BSF constable’s funeral will be held today. BSF constable Parray was shot dead at his home in Hajin, just north of Srinagar.

He died on the spot while his father and three relatives were critically injured.

The 31-year-old BSF constable was deployed with the border-guarding force’s 73rd battalion and had come home to the Bandipora district on leave.

Expressing solidarity with his family, the BSF, India tweeted: “Prahari Pariwar stands by the family of one of our member Constable Md Ramzan who was cowardly killed by terrorists today. He was on leave”

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah today called the killing of an off duty BSF trooper in Bandipora town as “abominable”.

Reacting to the killing of Rameez Parray, who had come home on leave, in Parray Mohalla, Abdullah tweeted: “What a terrible incident. This is abominable. Heartfelt condolences to the family of Rameez Parrey. Hope the injured recover soon.”

Parray’s murder brought back the memories of brutal killing by terrorists of 22-year-old Lt Ummer Fayaz in May, just because he was an officer in the Indian Army.

In that case, the terrorists had dragged Lt Fayaz away from a wedding he had gone on leave to attend.
