WestBengal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the upcoming West Bengal elections will “create new history” and issued a final warning to alleged TMC-linked syndicates and goons, asking them to surrender to the police before April 29 or face strict action.
Addressing a rally in Bankura, West Bengal, PM Modi said that those who once instilled fear among the people of Bengal are now themselves afraid of the power of the “Bengal Tiger,” adding that the Bengal Tiger is none other than the people of Bengal.
“These Bengal elections are going to create new history. The TMC’s era of fear is about to end. The BJP’s era of trust is about to begin. What results are coming on May 4th? A glimpse of this can be seen in the language of the TMC’s top leaders in Kolkata. Their threats, their hooliganism, are the exit poll before the 4th. Those who used to scare the people of Bengal till now are themselves afraid of the power of the Bengal Tiger. Who is the Bengal Tiger? Bengal Tiger, is the people of Bengal. I give one last chance to all the syndicates and goons of the TMC. Surrender yourselves at your respective police stations before April 29th, or else when the BJP comes to power here, we will not spare anyone,” he said.
PM Modi promised free rations for poor women in Bengal and assured them that no one will be able to steal their rations.
“The safety of sisters, the respect of mothers, sisters, and your prosperity, are the priorities of the BJP. Even now, due to the corruption of the TMC government, the women of Bengal do not receive the benefits they receive under the BJP government. If the BJP government is formed in Bengal, poor women will receive free rations, and no one will be able to steal your rations,” he said.
PM Modi also announced a wide range of welfare measures for women in West Bengal, promising significant support if the BJP is voted to power.
“If a BJP government is formed in Bengal, women will receive free treatment upto Rs 5 lakhs. If someone in a woman’s family has kidney disease? They will also receive free dialysis in government hospitals. It won’t cost a single rupee. The sisters of Bengal will receive Rs 36,000 every year. Pregnant women will be given Rs 21,000. The central government will also provide Rs 5,000 to sisters after they have a child, for the education of their daughters. Rs 50,000 will be provided. Under the Mudra scheme, women will receive Rs 20 lakh for self-employment. Women involved in agriculture will receive an additional Rs 9,000 annually. BJP’s double-engine government is going to give a double mandate to the sisters of Bengal,” he said.
PM Modi also accused the TMC of breaking laws to benefit infiltrators and urged the people of West Bengal to punish them severely.
“This is the same TMC that breaks every law and rule to benefit the infiltrators. This is the same TMC that is busy giving reservations on the basis of religion, destroying the spirit of community. Should TMC be punished or not? TMC is not ready to listen to our Kudmi Samaj here. It listens to the infiltrators and not the Kudmi Samaj. TMC wants to give reservations to its vote bank against the Constitution. I will tell every sister and daughter of Bengal that TMC must be punished. You must punish TMC severely. The ‘Maha Jungle Raj’ deserves severe punishment,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The women of Bengal wanted 33% reservation. Modi ensured this. The women of Bengal wanted it to be implemented from 2029. Modi also made efforts for this. But TMC did not want more of Bengal’s daughters to become MLAs and MPs because the daughters of Bengal were challenging their “Maha Jungle Raj.” Therefore, TMC, along with the Congress, conspired and prevented the law providing 33% reservation for women from being passed.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The BJP’s identity is women’s empowerment and women’s safety. That is why, in every state of the country, sisters and daughters give the BJP the most blessings. We want to expand the role of daughters in building a Viksit Bharat and encourage more and more daughters to enter politics, too. You have seen what happened in the Parliament. TMC has betrayed the sisters of Bengal yet again.”
Voting in West Bengal is scheduled to be held in two phases on April 23 and 29, with the counting of votes set for May 4.
