Mumbai: The main ally party of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena on Wednesday strongly condemned the decision of Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to release Hurriyat leader Masarat Alam and said, “He is standing with the terrorists like a father figure.”
In an editorial in party’s mouthpiece Saamana, Sena said, “Supporting terrorists is treason. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed should be acted against them. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister is standing with the terrorists like a father figure.”
Notify that Bharatiya Janata Party had already issued an ultimatum to its coalition partner Peoples Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir to mend its ways on Tuesday.
Sources said that the BJP has warned Sayeed to either mend his ways or else they will have to call off the alliance.
The BJP has made it clear that national security takes precedence over politics.
The remarks came even as the PDP assured the Centre that it will not release any political prisoners without consulting it.
Sources said a strong message is to be given to Sayeed.
Sources said, “Our priority is not government. There will be no compromise either on national security or Common Minimum Programme (CMP). Ideology will not be sacrificed.”
Sources also said, “No one should think that we will bend to run the government. One should be ready for consequences if this happens next time.”
