New Delhi: Voting underway for bypolls in 10 states for 3 high-profile Lok Sabha seats and 33 Assembly seats on Saturday.The three main LS seats are the seats from resignations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Vadodara, Mulayam Singh Yadav from Mainpuri and K Chandrashekhararao from Medak Lok Sabha seats have necessitated the bypolls.
33 assembly seats are also going to bypolls across Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Gujarat, Tripura, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Sikkim besides these three Lok Sabha seats.
The votes will be counted on September 16.
In UP, 11 assembly seats are going to bypolls. Out of 11 seats, 10 seats were held by the BJP and one by its ally Apna Dal. In Rajasthan, four assembly seats are going to polls.
In Modi’s development model state Gujarat, 9 assembly seats are going to bypolls with Vadodara Lok Sabha seat. In Assam, three seats are going to bypolls. In West Bengal two seats are going to bypolls. In Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tripura and Sikkim, one seat is each is going to bypolls.
