Kapil Sharma Cafe Shooter: Man Who Fired In Canada Arrested In Delhi, Accused Linked To Goldy Brar Network

Mumbai: Delhi Police on Friday arrested Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, who is believed to be involved in the shooting outside comedian Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, Canada. Officials claim Sekhon has links to Goldy Brar, a gangster associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi network.

Sekhon had entered India after the Canada incident. Crime Branch officers apprehended him along with what they described as advanced weaponry. Central agencies have joined the investigation to trace his movements, contacts, and the supply chain behind the attacks.

Authorities said Sekhon was responsible for arranging weapons and logistics for the shooters targeting Kap’s Cafe multiple times this year. The cafe, opened by Sharma in July 2025 in British Columbia, has been attacked three times. No injuries were reported, and gangster Goldy Dhillon claimed responsibility for the attacks in a social media video.

Police are now probing how Sekhon coordinated with handlers overseas and whether additional operatives are active in India or Canada. Interrogation is expected to focus on Brar’s wider network and the motives behind the attacks.

The first attack occurred on July 10, 2025, shortly after the cafe’s grand opening, when gunshots shattered its windows. The second took place on August 7, 2025, temporarily forcing the cafe to close. The latest attack happened in October 2025, just two weeks after the cafe reopened with heightened security.
