PM Modi directed CM Raman Singh for strict action in sterilization surgery mishap, Congress demand resignationBilaspur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had directed Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh for strict action in sterilization surgery mishap under which 8 women had been died and over 50 had been admitted in hospital out of which 32 are in critical condition.

Chhattisgarh government had suspended four doctors for medical negligence in the case of sterilization surgery in a camp on outskirts of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. An FIR had also been registered against doctors.

Eighty three women had undergone sterilisation surgeries on November 8 within five hours at a camp in Nemichand Jain Cancer and Research Centre at Pendari village on the outskirts of Bilaspur.

Notify that women had been discharged on Saturday after being given medicines. However, within 24 hours of the surgery, many women complained of vomiting and abdominal pain. Twenty nine of those women had been rushed to the Bilaspur district hospital.

The health officials have said that a detailed autopsy report would reveal the exact reason behind the deaths.

Meanwhile Medical Superintendent Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) Ramnesh Murthy said, “Patients are being admitted with high fever, stomach ache and low BP. It is too early to comment on the cause of the condition of patients. We will know cause of the patients’ condition after probe.”

Notify that Bilaspur is the home constituency of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and Health Minister Amar Agrawal. Now Congress had demanded for the resignation of health minister of state.

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Twitter demanded for the resignation of Amar Agrawal and said he must take the responsibility of the incident.
