12 leaders of Sangh Parivar threatened to kill in Tamil Nadu

Coimbatore: 12 people of various Sangh Parivar organizations had received a letter threatening to kill if they didn’t demand for immediate release of Abdul Nassar Madani, the Kerala-based PDP leader who is an accused in 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blasts. This letter has been send to BJP office in Coimbatore on Tuesday. Abdul Nassar Madani has been lodged in a jail in Bangalore.

The typed letter, posted in Palakkad in Kerala on Sunday, read “we urge the immediate release of our leader Abdul Nasser Mahdhani with immediate effect. If you fail to do so by withdrawing all cases registered against him in Bangalore, you will witness the funeral your leaders. Stop Lotus Channel immediately and say publicly sorry to islamic society (sic)”.

Police sources claimed that the letter had threatened to kill leaders of various organizations of BJP, including Hindu Munnani and VHP. Tamil Nadu BJP Secretary, GKS Selvakumar and district BJP president, Nanda Kumar met city Police Commissioner AK Vishwanathan and sought protection to front-ranking leaders of these organizations.

The city is under tight vigil and surveillance of police since the murder of BJP Tamil Nadu General Secretary V Ramesh in Salem on 19 July.
